Web Design

I am a freelance web designer, and have my own company - D.zigns Enterprise Solutions. I started out very humbly, creating my first website in FrontPage Express, then upgrading to FrontPage, based on themes and shared borders etc. The creative process proved very addictive, and soon I progressed to Dreamweaver, then learning to write htm by hand. In the process, I also gleaned a bit of knowledge in ASP, PHP and JavaScript. I got interested in CSS, and am still in the process of learning it. This site was previously made in frames, though the formating and other layout was in css. I remade it, with lots of help from quite good people, completely in css. In fact, the text in this paragraph aligns with a curve image, done with css. Some of the great learning sites for css are listed here. I also recently redid Juzar's website. My complete portfolio is here. I have completed sites in asp, php, with backends in access and mysql databases. I am in the process of creating a new asp-access based website here.

Reading

This is the interest of my life. I love books, and I love reading mystery - fiction, historical fiction etc. Give me a book, and I'll forget everything next to food and my kids. Reading also helps in building my vocabulary (I have to keep up with my 7 yr old, after all). Bigger vocabulary translates into better copy for web page writings.

Cooking

Though I am not a gourmet cook, I love trying out new dishes. I have the kind support of my husband, who eats whatever I cook, however much he may not like it. I always keep in mind his comments and ideas for improving a particular dish, and the second time around, I do get it right!
